Servers under assessment (Target Servers)

Servers under assessment are the target systems that ServerSage™ actively tests and validates through its secure Bastion node. These hosts—whether running in AWS, other cloud providers, or on-premise—are registered as managed instances via AWS Systems Manager for authenticated, auditable access.

Once connected, ServerSage safely executes controlled security tests across these machines, including exploit simulation, configuration validation, privilege-escalation checks, and lateral-movement analysis. Every action is governed by policy and logged for evidence generation, enabling teams to verify resilience, detect exploitable weaknesses, and produce compliance-ready artifacts.

Target Servers do not need to be hosted in AWS. It can be installed on any Linux VM (cloud or on-prem) with access to the ServerSage Bastion and appropriate credentials.

Depending on your infrastructure, follow one of the two setup guides below:

  • AWS Targets

  • Non-AWS Targets
